Hinds heroics not enough for Derbyshire
An outstanding 72 not out from Wavell Hinds was not enough
for Derbyshire in their Twenty20 Cup tie against Lancashire at
Old Trafford.
It was overshadowed by an even more spectacular unbeaten 102
from New Zealander Lou Vincent as Lightning won by nine wickets
with 22 balls to spare.
Vincent scored his runs off only 62 balls with three sixes and
11 fours.
Hinds' innings was the West Indian's highest score for the
county, coming off 52 balls with 10 fours, and took the
Phantoms to 153-5 after they had been put in to bat by the home
side.
Jamie Pipe added 44 off 38 balls with three fours and two sixes
as he and Hinds put on 103 for the fourth wicket.
