Homes and businesses left without post as Royal Mail struggles with weather
PEOPLE across Derbyshire have been left without post for days due to the poor weather.
Royal Mail have said they are attempting to make deliveries where it is safe to do so but due to the severe weather in the county over the last few days this has not been possible in some areas.
Andy Darlington, 39, runs Derbyshire food and drink magazine Taste the Seasons from his home in Queen Street, Belper, has had no mail for several days.
He said: "At a time when small businesses are struggling all over the place, it doesn't help one jot if our cheques get stuck in the post.

"The roads in Belper have been gritted and are perfectly clear. Many of the pavements have been cleared of snow by residents.
"To say the postmen can't get through is simply health and safety gone mad."
Royal Mail spokeswoman, Morag Turnbull. said: "We apologise to customers who are experiencing delays to their deliveries in Derbyshire and East Staffordshire as a result of the severe winter weather conditions there.
"A range of measures have been put in place to ensure deliveries reach people as quickly as possible.
"We are doing our utmost to ensure continued deliveries but it may not be possible to do so everywhere because of the weather."
