Horse rescued from frozen canal water
A HORSE had to be rescued from a frozen canal after it became stuck.
Firefighters donned life jackets and led the animal to the bank after being called to Ilkeston Road, in Stanton-by-Dale, yesterday at about 2.45pm.

A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said the owners and RSPCA officers then took care of the horse. It is not known how it became stuck.
