Will Hughes injury to be checked for home clash against Championship leaders Cardiff City tomorrow night
DERBY County will check on the fitness of Will Hughes ahead of the home clash against Championship leaders Cardiff City tomorrow night.
The 17-year-old midfielder turned his ankle in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Birmingham City and was replaced by Jeff Hendrick deep in stoppage time.
"Will tweaked his ankle," manager Nigel Clough confirmed.
"We don't like making substitutions with 30 seconds to go but we did not want Will to make the ankle worse.

"I said to (Birmingham manager) Lee Clark that you could see Will was struggling.
"The substitution was not time-wasting, or anything like that – the referee played a minute and 15 seconds over the four minutes anyway!"
Hughes has started all but one of Derby's 18 Championship fixtures, including the last 16.
Valentin Gjokaj was an unused substitute for Carlisle United in their 3-1 win at Yeovil on Saturday.
The 19-year-old Derby defender has joined the League One club on loan until January.
