Hundreds brave "freezing" cold to complete Clough Taylor People's Run at Donington Park - including Rams boss Nigel Clough
SCORES of rival supporters of Derby County and Nottingham Forest took on the freezing wind that swept around Donington Race circuit this morning in honour of legends Brian Clough and Peter Taylor.
In among them was ex-Forest player and current Rams manager Nigel Clough – who joked he could not imagine his dad taking part.

It was the first-ever Clough Taylor People's Run, with around 800 runners taking part.

Derby fans wore white t-shirts, Forest fans red and neutral supporters wore blue.
Nigel Clough, who started the 10k race alongside ex-Forest hero Garry Birtles, said his father and Taylor would have been “honoured” by the turnout.
Nigel said: “It's extremely cold, which makes the number of people who have turned up even more remarkable.
“My dad and Peter Taylor would be honoured but I don't think they'd be taking part themselves!”
Rams legend Steve Powell also took part. The ex-midfielder pushed 28-year-old wheelchair user Kenny Fradley, who has cerebral palsy, around the 10k course.
Powell, 57, said the event was a “great way” to honour Clough and Taylor.
He added: “It’s great to be pushing Kenny around. It’s really interesting for him because he’s been watching motorsport here since he was five.”
Both the 10k event and a 1k fun run went ahead despite some snow falling in parts of South Derbyshire and North West Leicestershire in the hours leading up to the occasion.
The winner of the 1k run was young Derby County supporter Harry Harrison, who is a member of Long Eaton Running Club.
The 10-year-old, who lives in Barrow-upon-Trent and stormed the 1k course in just under five minutes, said: “It was very good. I really enjoyed it.
“At the end I had that little bit more power to do it inside five minutes. I’m pleased with my time.”
Rams fan Mark Frost, 39, took part in the 10k event. He said: “As soon as I saw the event advertised I wanted to do it. It’s a great way to honour Clough and Peter Taylor.”
Fellow Derby supporter Kevin Watkins, 51, from Chellaston, said: “There’s been a bit of banter between us and the Forest fans. They’re doing better than us at the moment but our recent record against them speaks for itself.”
The run raised thousands of pounds for three charities, Cerebral Palsy Sport, Hope Against Cancer and the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
The idea behind the event came from Jim Cowan, from Nottinghamshire, who founded People’s Events, which organises charity fund-raisers.
