Hungary for school reunion
A HUNGARIAN boy has been reunited with his old school after plans got under way to launch an exchange scheme.
Bemrose Community School is linking up with schools in Germany and Hungary in an EU scheme to create partnerships across Europe.
The Uttoxeter New Road school will be working with IGS Franzsches Feld School in Braunschwieg, Germany, and Apáczai Education Centre in Pécs, Hungary.
Deputy head teacher Linda Dawson said: "The relevance of this project became even more significant when we realised that one of the Hungarian students currently at Bemrose actually attended our partner school in Pécs, Hungary, before he came to the UK.
"He actually recognised his teacher in one of the photographs we had.
"We've since put these two back in touch through e-mail. It was an amazing coincidence."
The students will be sharing work on an innovative Year 7 curriculum known as The Bemrose Way in exchange visits over the next two years.
