Husband and wife team in buyout of top-rated hotel apartment firm
A HOTEL apartments business in Derby has been bought out by its husband and wife management team for an undisclosed sum.
Birchover Hotel Apartments has been taken over by Carl and Lisa Bridge following a period of "sustained success" for the firm, which has accommodation in Darley Abbey and Allestree.
Birchover was one of the first businesses to bring the concept of serviced hotel apartments to the city.
It allows customers to hire a luxury apartment for as short a time as a single night. Additional services can be provided, with staff available 24 hours a day, providing maintenance and room cleaning services.
Bissell's 8910E Aroma Pro is the ultimate in home cleaning giving you a machine that provides outstanding results when not just cleaning carpets but stairs and upholstery too.

In recent years, the business has grown in popularity, particularly among business clients.
A number of major companies use Birchover to accommodate staff who are visiting on business or are working on temporary contracts.
The two-bedroom apartments are popular with families because they allow them to stay under one roof.
Last year, Birchover introduced a bridal suite, which helped increased the number of bookings from wedding parties.
As a result, in the last three years revenues have trebled and last year the company won a string of awards for its performance. Birchover received awards at the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Family Business Awards in 2012 for Service Excellence, Commitment to People Development and Commitment to the Community.
Under the stewardship of Mr and Mrs Bridge, the business has risen from 26th to 1st on holiday review website Trip Advisor in terms of place to stay in Derby.
Mr Bridge said: "We offer a competitive rate for the apartments, given their size and the fact that they have saunas, free parking and free wifi. Much of our success has been built on long-term bookings and regular business from corporate guests who stay every week, in addition to leisure guests who return time after time.
"We're really pleased to have secured this deal and feel excited about the prospects for the future."
Mrs Bridge said: "The quality of the housekeeping and reception team has provided a bedrock for our success and we're delighted that we can now all work together to achieve our ambitions."
The couple bought the business from BHA Limited, owned by John Gould.
Mr Gould said: "We were one of the pioneers of the serviced apartment concept back in the 1990s and the key principles of that concept – offering space, quality and comfort – have been central to the business throughout this time. This provided the platform for growth seen in the past three years.
"I'm delighted that Carl and Lisa can take the business on to the next level and wish them every success."
