Ilkeston shopkeeper stabbed yesterday expected to leave hospital in next 24 hours
A 61-YEAR-OLD shopkeeper who was stabbed in an attempted robbery is said to be in an "improving" condition.
The man, named locally as Peter Eizens, was stabbed in his home near his corner shop, according to people at the scene.

A builder who chased the attacker away from the scene yesterday said the victim had been stabbed "multiple times".
He also said the assailant turned the knife on him and attempted to stab him in the stomach.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened on Monday morning.
The attacked man was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment, where he was yesterday described as "stable".
Derbyshire Police confirmed he should be released from hospital within the next 24 hours.
After the attack, the alleged offender he ran off in the direction of Alvenor Street.
