Injured driver cut free from car after it strikes gatepost
A DRIVER in his 40s was trapped in his 4x4 for nearly half an hour after the vehicle came off the road and hit a stone gatepost.
The incident happened in Kedleston Road, Kedleston, at about 9.10am yesterday.

A fire service spokeswoman said the man had become trapped in his car as the impact had caved the driver's side door in.
She said: "The door was crumpled and couldn't be opened.

"Crews cut the roof off and freed the driver in under half an hour, which is a good time.
"He was hoisted out on a spinal board and taken to the Royal Derby Hospital with suspected head and spinal injuries.
"No-one else was in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved."
The spokeswoman said firefighters did not know what had caused the 4x4 to leave the road.
The man's current condition is not known.
