Injury blow for Rams' Barnes
GILES Barnes faces a possible lengthy spell out injured after being carried off on a stretcher in Derby County's draw with Stoke City at the weekend.
Barnes, who had been on the field only 14 minutes, went down in the 90th minute after a challenge from Stoke defender Carl Dickinson.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder damaged his Achilles' tendon and left the pitch on a stretcher.
"We're disappointed for him," said Rams manager Nigel Clough.
"He just felt something in his Achilles, I think it was a combination of a kick and the way he fell. We will just wait and see what the medical people say but it doesn't look too good at the moment."
Derby will know more after the player's injury has been assessed.
Barnes spent almost 10 months out with a serious knee injury last year.
He returned in late December and then joined Fulham on loan but did not make a first-team appearance for the Londoners.
The move was with a view to a permanent deal but the Premier League club did not follow up their interest in him.
Barnes started only two of the Rams' seven first-team friendlies in pre-season.

“I wasn't at the match on Saturday but from what i gather Carl Dickinson is an ex Derby academy player, maybe a bit of pay back was on the cards? If it was an innocuous challenge I retract my statement and Giles is just an injury prone crock like some of the greats, Paul Boden springs to mind!”

“I remember the last time Giles Barnes had a long term injury. Derby County spent time, money and effort getting him fit again.
He played a couple of games and declared ' Derby are not a big enough club for him' and joined the MIGHTY Fulham on loan.
With Fulham doing well last season they didn't want to risk a big time Charlie messing it up for them so never started him and
did not follow up any permanent move for the superstar although (Giles probably though he was too good for them anyway).
Now he's back at Derby and gets another long term injury!
I don't need to tell you what will happen once we've nursed him back to full fitness do I.
Perhaps he should pay for his own treatment this time as a good will gesture to the people of Derby.”

“Feel bad for him. He doesn't seem to be able to stay fit long enough to silence his critics, which i think he would do given the chance. Sheer bad luck!”
