International relations supported through chess
I FULLY agree with Ansar Khan ("time to decide whether you're with us or against us", Letters, January 14), we should not be fooled by politicians into supporting aggression in Iran.
My hobby is playing chess with people from many different countries using the website chess.com and, among my dozen or so games is one against a 22-year-old Iranian girl. The website aims to promote international friendships through chess and I am now included on this girl's "friends list".
Surely this is a much better way of influencing international relationships than threats made by incompetent politicians who can't solve problems at home and so try to divert attention to overseas affairs where they have no right to interfere.
Iraq was a typical example, not once but twice.
If anybody is interested my friend's name is Setareyekhamosheshab. Try saying that when you've had a few!
