JCB lands £40 million Brazil order
DIGGER manufacturer JCB has secured a £40 million order from the Brazilian government to supply more than 1,000 machines, which will be used to help boost the country’s rural economy.
The Ministry of Agrarian Development has signed a tender with the Rocester-based firm to supply backhoe loaders.
They will be used to improve rural roads, to ensure food produced for sale gets to market quicker.
The machines will be built at JCB’s factory in Sao Paulo, which was officially opened last year by Prime Minister David Cameron.
