NATHAN Tyson will bring pace and experience to Millwall's attack, according to Lions boss Kenny Jackett.

Tyson has joined Millwall on loan from Derby County until the end of the season and the 30-year-old striker could make his debut against Burnley tomorrow.

"I'm pleased with acquiring Nathan," said Jackett.

"At 30 he has experience of the division, which at times we've lacked, and he brings pace to our front line.

"He adds the option of being able to play on the left hand side as well but I do see him predominantly as a striker."

Jackett has not ruled out further additions to Millwall's strikeforce.

"With the loan system, I don't see the deadline as January 31, I just think it is always ongoing to be able to improve our squad," he said.

"Is that it now? It isn't necessarily like that, it is an ongoing process which doesn't just finish."

“WHAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IS WHY WE DID NOT AMAKE A MORE SERIOUS ENQUIRY FOR CHRIS WOOD.HE DID A GREAT JOB FOR MILLWALL EARLIER THIS SEASON AND HAS SCORED SIX GOALS IN THREE GAMES FOR LEICESTER ,AND COST THE SAME FEE AS CONOR SAMMON!IF HE SCORES THE GOALS TO GET LEICESTER PROMOTED THEN IT WILL BE A WORTHWILE INVESTMENT WHETHER THEY HAVE DEBTS OR NOT.MAYBE NUGENT OR WAGHORN MAY NOW BE AVAILABLE NOW AND WOULD BE A BETTER REPLACEMENT THAN BLACKSTOCK.HE DID NOTHING FOR US WHEN HE WAS ON LOAN HERE SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND HAS NOT PROGRESSED LIKE DANNY GRAHAM HAS AT WATFORD AND SWANSEA.TALKING OF SWANSEA WHY DO WE NOT LOOK ABROAD LIKE BURLEY DID.MICHU HAS BEEN THE SIGNING OF THE SEASON FOR ME AND ONLY COST TWO MILLION POUNDS.”

“Maybe there are times when a player will fit in with one club but does not fit with another due to a different style of play. Tyson has been a wide man for the majority of his career but NC bought him in as a striker so maybe he found the change of styles difficult to adapt to. As he is getting into the upper age bracket NC obviously felt he was never going to make a success of his role at PP and consequently he has been taken off our payroll at least for this season. His contract however runs until the end of next season so Nigel will be hoping that he is a success at The New Den and the possible permanent transfer goes through. We probably were dazzled by his pace in the early matches with Florist but have subsequently found out that we made a mistake on this occasion as, it was felt at the time, we did with Maguire who has been missing from the Wednesday side of late - Bywater too!!”

“Tyson got over his injury for the start of the season and did ok in the odd cameo when he came on late in the game. However, when he has started a game he has never really caused problems and 9 times out of 10 he has been subsituted before the end of the match. So why is it baffling that he has been loaned out? Only certain fans will find it baffling, enough said! If the manager doesn't have him in his plans why keep him on the payroll? We haven't got that sort of money. Good reports are coming out about the progress being made by Bennett so lets get him in the squad. People said it was wrong when we sold Maguire but he can't get near the Sheffield side.”

“Obviously there are varying opinions on Nathan Tyson's situation according to your view of the player's ability and contribution. Just before Xmas there was the opportunity to play him from the start in a few games but Nigel decided against it and consequently this move is not a surprise. If he contributes to The Lions getting promoted I wonder what some of our posters will say then!!
At the age of 30 he is approaching the latter end of his career and, as some others have said, he has not always been effective when he has played for Rams. Whether this is down to him playing wide for Florist and other clubs since leaving Wycombe Wanderers some years ago is unclear but he is better off going somewhere where he will get a game rather than keeping our bench and wage bill busy. Maybe he found the change to central striker rather than winger difficult to handle but I do not bear him any malice purely because he has not really done well for us.
We have strength in the forward department at present but recognise that there could be injuries ahead during these days of difficult weather conditions affecting pitches so I assume that there is a recall clause in place. As NC has already said this will elevate Mason Bennett so there is a silver lining at PP to this particular cloud as Mason has not really been used extensively this term and he could give us a boost during the Spring. There are other departments that could go down the same path as we have 5 keepers also but maybe there is no interest in them as yet.
There have been others who have fitted elsewhere but not performed at PP so he is not alone.”

“Can't understand why we spent so much time getting him fit to loan him out! Baffling ,but that's clough for you ,wonder why we've had no interest in theo prolific striker”

“We brought him in because we thought he was a decent
    player...simples.

However, his ball skills do not match his fast legs i'm afaid
and EVERYTIME he has had his chance he has failed to impress..

    Sad but true...

The squad as it improves has shown up such as Tyson,Robinson too
    perhaps...”

“I still can't work out why we bought him ?
He was our "landmark" signing 18 months ago and yet we have never given him a chance to show what he can do on the pitch.
Not sure if he can be classed as unfortunate or an expensive mistake ?
Either way I think he will do a good job for Millwall and IMO I would have him in the squad in front of Theo any day.”
