A WOULD-BE terrorist who settled in Derby will be put on an immigration "watch list" to stop him ever entering the UK again.

Krenar Lusha was jailed for seven years this week for a string of terrorism-related offences.

A judge ordered the 30-year-old Albanian Muslim be returned to his home country after serving half of his sentence.

A spokesman for the Home Office last night confirmed Lusha, of Moore Street, Normanton, would be place on a "watch list" upon his release from prison.

He said: "If we deport someone from the UK who has been convicted of terrorist offences they will be added to a watch list and banned from re-entering the UK."

The spokesman said the watch list was shared by agencies including the police, Interpol – the international police service – and the UK Border Agency. He also said Lusha's fingerprints would be shared with agencies to stop him trying to enter the country under another name.

On Tuesday, a jury at Preston Crown Court found Lusha guilty of five offences under the Terrorism Act.

During his trial, the court that heard when police raided his home on August 26 last year they found 71.8 litres of petrol and bomb-making manuals. Jurors ruled the petrol and manuals were a reasonable indication he planned terrorism.

The court was told Lusha came to the UK in 2000 in the back of a truck, arriving at Dover on January 3, 2000, along with his brother, Ndriqim.

They went to a Home Office building in Croydon and started applications for asylum, and were placed in temporary accommodation in Sussex, before being found a place to live in Alvaston.

Lusha lived there for three years before moving to a house in Sale Street, then moved to properties in Powell Street, Molineux Street, Kelmoor Road, Alvaston, and eventually Moore Street.

Despite having his bid for asylum rejected in 2003, Lusha was able to secure a job with Denby firm HL Plastics and a £93,000 mortgage from NatWest.

Lusha has served more than 450 days of his sentence, having been in prison awaiting trial since August last year.

“This "banned list" will be just as effective as the yellow lines painted on our road sides, or the "No Cycling" signs in our pedestrian areas or the No Parking signs on private land or hospital access points.

People will always obey these rules as we are a law abiding society. Being on a banned list will let them know without doubt that they are not wanted and they will stay away!

Sorry, just woke up! must have been dreaming! Back to the REAL world!”

“i gave my comment on what should happen to worthless scum like him yesterday, but my comment was lifted....so much for living in a democratic society with free speech...they were just the thoughts of a law abiding voter of the british isles.”

“Derbyborn, what intergration? None of the other cultures integrate with us. My child has recently left primary school where Polish, Phillipino, asian all stood in their own little groups and any overture on our part was met with hostility, not one of them was interested in forming friendships with us. The children did form friendships in the playgrounds but never were they allowed to further the friendship out of school, try telling your child that the parents didn't want their child to come to your home nor were you welcome at theirs. All were happy enough to have their child educated at a Catholic school though.”

“"Watch List" - it will probably get lost by the incompetent people in charge of our borders. In the meantime our politicians can say they are proud of our integrated society and our tolerance of other people who want to make the UK their home and add to our way of life.”
