Jeff Hendrick says luck was lacking in Derby defeat
JEFF Hendrick felt Derby County did enough to get something from their Boxing Day clash with Burnley.
The Rams slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Turf Moor yesterday but Hendrick believes the outcome could easily have been different.
With the visitors trailing 1-0 just before the hour mark, the woodwork denied Paul Coutts an equaliser that might have changed the game.
"I thought we played well and moved the ball well, especially in the second half," said Hendrick.

"We were on top from the start of the second half but probably didn't create enough chances as we should have done.
"We had a few chances but didn't have the luck at all. On another day, one of those would have gone in for us.
"If we had scored then, we would have got stronger and stronger – but it just didn't happen.
"For a 15-minute spell at the start of the second half, we were well on top and were just waiting for a chance to drop for someone.
"If we'd got a goal when it was 1-0, we think we would have built a lot of momentum and gone on to get a second.
"But they got the second goal, which was against the run of play, and it stopped our momentum for a while."
There was an element of fortune to Burnley's 39th-minute opener, with Charlie Austin's shot from a deflected cross heading wide before being inadvertently turned into his own net by Derby defender John Brayford.
"It went through two people and then hit Bray on the shin," midfielder Hendrick added. "So they got a bit of luck but sometimes you need that to score a goal.
"That helped them settle down a lot and it would have been different if we had got it.
"He (Austin) likes scoring against us, that's for sure. He's on form and is a handful up there.
"When he gets a chance, he takes it. He got a bit of help but it's still a goal."
