UPDATE 15.17: Trent Barton has reported a normal service on its buses.

UPDATE 14.52:  East Midlands Airport is operating normally clearing snow from the runway between flights. One flight from closed Birmingham Airport was diverted to East Midlands Airport and landed at 12.15 and coach transport was being organised for passengers.

It is snowing at the airport, and is expected to get heavier around 3pm, but the airport is still intending to try to operate as normal, a spokesman said.

Soon after an accident between a Ford Ranger and a Honda Prelude at 1.05pm caused major traffic problems eastbound close to JCB. One of the 

motorists has now been removed from the road but police are still in attendance.

UPDATE 13.38: Trains from Derby to Aberdeen and Newcastle are experiencing long delays due to the poor weather conditions.

A broken-down train near Burton is also causing delays on trains coming from the South West and travelling to the South West through Birmingham New Street Station.

UPDATE 13.30: Four inches of snow has hit Uttoxeter causing widespread disruption on their bus network.

Arriva Midlands has confirmed the 428 service from Uttoxeter to Lichfield has been forced to divert in several sections.  Buses are unable to drive down George Elliott Close, Westlands Road and Dapple Heath. 

UPDATE 13.20: The Healthier South Derbyshire Day due to be held at the Green Bank Leisure Centre in Swadlincote on Saturday, January 19 has been postponed due to the weather.
