FARMERS and landowners are being asked to help fight fly-tipping by reporting rubbish that is illegally dumped.

Derbyshire County Council is working with the Environment Agency and district councils to prevent it.

John Allsop, cabinet member for recycling, said: "We are already cracking down on fly-tipping on public land.

"We are now urging farmers and landowners to report fly-tipping so we can build up a picture of the scale of the problem on private land."

If rubbish is dumped on your land, call the county council on 08456 058 058.
