It was another day of drudgery for the Derbyshire bowlers on

the second day of their LV County Championship match against

Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Jon Trott extended his marathon stay to reach his third century

of the season and, at tea, he was 160 not out in a score of

447-7.

Having restricted the home side to 209-3 overnight, a burst of

3-8 in five overs gave Derbyshire a reward for their tight

discipline with the ball.

Charl Langeveldt broke the fourth-wicket stand of 94 in 38

overs between Trott and Jim Troughton when he had Troughton lbw

for 35 in the fifth over with the new ball.

Three overs later, Graham Wagg had Tim Ambrose caught at

midwicket by Dan Redfern for five and Langeveldt followed up by

trapping former Derbyshire player Ant Botha for a duck to make

it 240-6.

Langeveldt gave Ian Salisbury a torrid time to begin with but

the Warwickshire player went on to score 64 before he skied a

pull at Jon Clare and was caught by wicketkeeper Tom New at

350-7.
