Large amount of copper piping stolen after break-in at Repton School

WHAT police have said is a large amount of copper piping has been stolen from a Derbyshire school.

The metal was taken overnight from a locked building site at Repton School, in Repton.

Workmen discovered the break-in when they arrived at the site at 6.30am today.

A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: "The metal was taken sometime between 5.30pm yesterday and 6.30am today.

"A gate at the site had been forced open and the thieves had broken into a locked building to get to the metal.

"A large amount of copper piping that was for new heating at the school was taken."
