Learn how to live off the land at Trentham
THE Trentham Estate has joined forces with The Dangerous Book for Boys to run a series of outdoor survival skills events for children this summer.
Activities from the best-selling book will be held every Saturday and Sunday throughout the holidays, from July 25 to August 30, 10am to 3.30pm.
The events in the gardens and woodlands will be hands-on, teaching survival skills and how to live with nature. Participants will learn how to make shelters, build and light fires – without the aid of matches – and the art of crafting tools and bowls. They'll also discover how to find food and water in the wild. If you've ever wondered how to pick nettles without getting stung, to brew a nice cup of nettle tea, now's your chance to find out.
Activities will be led by qualified Forest School leader Christian Fox for girls and boys aged from eight to 80 and are included in the admission price.
