'Lessons in life' project for pupils
YOUNG people in Erewash will have "lessons in life'" this year – thanks to an Erewash Borough Council project.
Called Reality Street, the project will teach pupils about living independently, managing a household budget, financial issues and details of crucial topics such as taxes, debt and credit.

delight: Councillor Carol Hart believes this project will be useful.
The council's housing options team has secured money from Derbyshire Primary Care Trust's health and housing fund to provide the in-school project for year-11 pupils.
Councillor Carol Hart, borough council deputy leader, said: "We are delighted to be able to ensure this pace-setting activity goes into Erewash and is another example of the hard work put in to prevent homelessness among young people."
