Letter for parents over loss of head at Merrill College
A LETTER has been sent to parents of pupils at Merrill College, where head teacher Michael Whelan was given a vote of no confidence last week.
The school, in Brackens Lane, Alvaston, is due to become an academy on January 1 under the sponsorship of Derby College.
Mr Whelan was due to be principal but he has now been recalled to Derby College.
Unions had expressed their concerns that behaviour had worsened in the past few months.
