Life should not be so hard at council

I RECENTLY sent the following letter to customer services at Derby City Council:

I am writing to say that my black bin has not been collected.

I am not happy as I have a family and, due to the introduction of the blue and brown bins, only have the opportunity to get rid of household waste once a fortnight.

Recycling is great but so is the collection of non-recyclable items and waste.

If you are going to introduce a new system or product (blue and brown), have the budget for it.

I pay council tax, so collect my bin!

I can quite easily dispose of it anywhere else in Derby city myself but I would rather you take it to the proper place.

Here is a suggestion.Work overtime, pay your staff and get the job done like in all private industries.

If a job is not done, you work until it is. SIMPLE.

I digress...

Please, collect my bin!

Oh, and while I am on, we shouldn't have had to wait until April to fix the A52.

Life should not be this difficult.

Instead you go and have a meeting to discuss the meeting that you are about to have in order to discuss the meeting that was missed two weeks ago because half your colleagues were either on the sick or went home as soon as they had clocked up their 37.5 hours.

God, sort it please.

Kermit and Gonzo ran a better show.

It's like living on the set of Fraggle rock.

“Alex, you sound like you're proud of that letter. You're a disgrace - there's no wonder Derby is in the state it is when residents can't even write a reasonable letter of complaint.”
