Life-long photographer holds his own exhibition
A PHOTOGRAPHER who first started taking pictures as a youngster using his mother's camera is holding an exhibition at Derby Cathedral Centre.
Called "Sea Lines, Images From Iona", it is inspired by Ewan Mathers' trips to Scotland.

Mr Mathers, 48, works as a professional photographer and usually takes wedding pictures or portraits.
His enthusiasm for photography started aged four, when he used to play with his mum's camera.

He went on to study photography at the University of Derby.
Mr Mathers, of Ilkeston, said his exhibition was inspired by the seaside landscape of Iona, in Scotland. He said: "I took multiple pictures in a panorama style of the landscape and placed them together as one long piece.
"The collection at the exhibition is actually only half of the actual size, approximately five feet long. It's pretty big."
The exhibition runs throughout February.

“@ Sprig_Onion - it is all in the mind - you see what you want to see and what you seem to be seeing is very revealing about the workings of your mind!”

“That's a funny pose with your long lens at that angle and your legs apart. Your only quote concerning the work is also about 'one long piece' and how 'it's pretty big'. Did you not read anything about gender and photography at the 'University of Derby'?”
