Lives saved by blood donations
STAFF working in Derby's hospitals saved more than 100 lives last month by giving blood.
The National Blood Service has written to Derby Hospitals NHS Trust to thank 34 workers who gave blood during a donor session at Derby City General Hospital.
It is estimated that the amount taken will help save the lives of 102 people who require blood transfusions.
The service will be taking donations from hospital staff again on Christmas Eve to help keep blood stocks high over the holiday period.
