TRAFFIC ground to a standstill on the A52 after two husky dogs were spotted running along the carriageway.
One of the dogs was hit and killed by a vehicle on the westbound stretch, close to the Coal Lane Junction, yesterday.

Police said the incident also caused a collision between a BMW and a Mercedes.
Traffic backed up heading into Derby and there were queues back to the M1 turn off.

“It is extremly sad that this beautiful dog was killed through its owners stupidity but also this Incident could have caused an horrific pile up on a huge scale, have the owner/s been found and being prosecuted”

“I know it is a minor point compared to the consequences of the dogs being loose on a major road - but (yet again) Telegraph just does not seem to know area. It is not Coal, it is Cole Lane.”
