Lullington's chance to close gap in title chase
IT is not inconceivable that three clubs could be neck and neck in the race for the Beechwood Derbyshire Premier League title after tomorrow's games.
The key clash of the day sees Lullington Park at home to leaders Sandiacre Town and hoping to close a 15-point gap before they all go into the last double-header weekend of the season.
Ockbrook & Borrowash, in second, also have 15 points to make up on Sandiacre and will be hoping that their opponents tomorrow, Ilkeston Rutland, will have one eye on the Derbyshire Cup final the following day.
At the other end of the table, it will be an anxious weekend for Alfreton and Matlock, who are without a game, having already played 20.
Dunstall, at home to Spondon, and Alvaston & Boulton, away to Quarndon, will hope to make up ground on them as both try to get away from the relegation zone.
In County League Division One, second-placed Swarkestone are away to relegation battlers Aston-on-Trent while leaders Ticknall are at home to Clifton.
Clay Cross, third, are away to fourth-placed Rolls-Royce.
