MP hands awards to companies helping environment
SOUTH Derbyshire MP Mark Todd visited the Derby offices of a firm of business advisers to present awards to companies that have been successful in lessening their impact on the environment.
Mr Todd presented the awards to members of the Resource Navigator Club at the Pride Park offices of Cooper Parry. Mr Todd presented awards to organisations which had taken steps towards resource efficiency and waste reduction between 2007 and 2008.
Bonar Floors, in Ripley, and Advanced Flooring and Roofing, in Ilkeston, were co-winners of the award for best quantitative environmental performance management.
Alert Electrical Wholesalers, in Ilkeston, won the award for the greatest reduction in waste generation, with a 62% reduction.
