MP invites PM to take smaller firms on his export missions
A DERBYSHIRE MP has called on Prime Minister David Cameron to invite firms from her constituency on overseas trade missions to help boost their exports.
During Prime Minister's Questions, which took place in the House of Commons yesterday, Mid-Derbyshire MP Pauline Latham asked Mr Cameron to include small and medium-sized businesses in his delegation.
In the past Mr Cameron has led trade missions to key markets, including developing economies such as Brazil and India, but the businesses that accompany him on the trips have been large companies, including the likes of Rolls-Royce and JCB.
Mr Cameron responded that he was looking forward to leading further missions and added: "I will certainly include SMEs and perhaps some from my Honourable Friend's constituency."
