Man, 58, in court charged with having sex with a horse

A 58-year-old man has appeared in court charged with having sex with a horse.

Peter Coulby, of Hillingdon Drive, Ilkeston, spoke only to confirm his name and address at a hearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court.

Dressed in a black leather jacket, white open-necked shirt and black jeans, Coulby was told his case would be adjourned for eight weeks.

He is due to appear before magistrates at the same court at 2pm on November 26.

Coulby entered no plea to one charge of having sex with an animal between March 1 and June 5 this year and to two counts of possessing extreme pornographic images.

Police were called to an equestrian property in Breaston Lane, Risley, on June 6, following reports that a man was see acting suspiciously in a field.

He was arrested nearby.
