Marston's reports sales and profits boost
PUB and brewing firm Marston's has said its investment in new pubs helped the company achieve a rise in sales and pre-tax profits.
The company, which owns a number of pubs in Derbyshire and brews its flagship Marston's Pedigree ale in Burton, said that pre-tax profits for the year had risen 9.2% to £87.8 million, up from £80.4 million achieved in 2011.
Sales also grew from £682.2 million to £719.7 million, a rise of 5.5%.
The company, whose branded pubs include Two for One, said its strategy on food in particular had helped boost its performance.
