A FLASH flood warning has been issued by the Met Office for nearly all areas in the north of England, including Derbyshire.

The warning means there is a risk of 15mm of rainfall in three hours.

Forecaster Nigel Bolton said that the rain, which started at 9am, would continue until about 4pm.

He said: "We know about an inch of rain has already fallen in Staffordshire and its going to be very wet in Derbyshire.

"The rain is not expected to continue into tomorrow."
