Michael's Fury in tribute to Billy
THE life and career of Billy Fury is to be celebrated in Derby next week with a tribute show commemorating the 30th anniversary of the untimely passing of this gentle British rock'n'roll star.
Called The Billy Fury Years, singer Michael King, who was brought up on 50s music as a child, will take the audience on a journey through the musical career of one of Britain's most modest and best-loved stars.

Michael King is bringing The Billy Fury Years to the Assembly Rooms.
The two-hour show is filled with Billy Fury's greatest hits, delivered in authentic style and enhanced by audio and video effects depicting aspects of Fury's life.
"I will also change costume several time in the show to reflecting stages of Billy Fury's career and his ever-changing image," said Michael, whose mother was a devoted Billy Fury fan.

Born in Liverpool in 1940, Billy Fury became internationally successful from the late-1950s to the early-1960s, and remained an active songwriter until the 1980s. Rheumatic fever contributed to his early death in 1983.
