ALLENTON United are the new leaders of the Premier Division following a 3-0 win over Cromford.

But Wirksworth Town kept up the challenge by beating Allestree 2-1 to remain level on points with their rivals.

Scott Gascoigne and James Newton notched the Wirksworth goals.

Third-placed Long Eaton United Reserves lost ground as they were beaten 4-0 at Rowsley 86 but Melbourne Dynamo stay in touch after a 4-0 success against Chellaston.

Dave Brough, Paul Swallow, Lee Scott and Carl Allsopp netted for the winners.

John Woolley scored a hat-trick for Newmount as they beat Sandiacre Town 4-1.

Strikes from Paul Bicknell and Perry Richards helped new-look Ashover to a point at Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure.

Andy Dawkins netted both goals for Royces.

Derbyshire Amateurs needed extra time and penalties to progress past Belper United Reserves in the Junior Cup.

Bargate Rovers, whose goals came from Rob Gregory, Andy Middleton and Mickey Dunn (2), beat Pastures Reserves 4-2.

Mickleover RBL beat Swanwick PR 3-1.

Division One leaders Selston beat Rainworth MW Reserves 3-1 in the Notts FA Cup and while they were doing that, Heanor Colliers took the chance to close the gap in the league by beating Little Eaton 7-0.

Punjab United stay in touch following a 5-0 victory over Holbrook St Michaels Reserves.

Kirk Fallows and Joe Smith scored for Ripley Town as they beat Cotes Park 4-2, while Sjirland Athletic eased to a 6-0 win over Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure Reserves led by three goals from Guy Taylor.

Wirksworth Ivanhoe suffered a setback in their pro,otion bid as they went down 3-1 to Findern Reserves.
