MELBOURNE United’s fantastic run of 17 Premier Division matches without defeat is finally over.
They were beaten 2-1 by Mickleover RBL Reserves, who play in Division Two, in the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup.
Ben Frearson and Chris Sayles scored one each for the winners.
Mickleover RBL’s first team didn’t do quite so well in the same stage of the competition as they were beaten 3-2 by Long Eaton United.
Wirksworth Town seized the chance to close the gap in the Premier Division with most of the top teams involved in the cup, by beating Chellaston 2-0.
Selston are back on top of Division Two after beating Ripley Town 3-1.
Swanwick PR could only manage a 1-1 draw with Bargate Rovers.
Lowly Pastures secured their second win of the season by beating Derbyshire Amateurs 4-1.
Aaron Pegg and Rhys Robinson scored two each.
