Midlands Regional Alliance: Snow joke for Sandiacre

MELBOURNE Dynamo spent most of Saturday morning clearing snow off their pitch – but it proved a sound decision as they consolidated top-spot in the Premier Division by beating Sandiacre Town 6-3.
Paul Swallow and Carl Allsopp both scored twice with Alex Slater and Lee Scott also on the scoresheet.
Wirksworth Town stay in touch with the leaders after their 3-1 victory at Long Eaton United.
Richard Maskrey scored twice with Scott Gascoigne netting a third for Wirksworth.
There was a welcome return to action for Blues striker Paolo Piliero, who broke his tibula and fibula while playing for the first team in August.
Piliero, who also had spells with Belper Town and Ilkeston Town, had to have an operation to pin his leg but has made a good recovery.
At the other end of the table, Ashover eased their worries by beating Allestree 5-1.
Carl Musgrove scored twice with Dale Crowder, Ryan Illingworth and Adam Woodhouse netting the other goals.
Matlock Town Reserves are still in trouble, however, after their 3-0 defeat by Castle Donington Town.
Cromford, led by two goals from Dan Wildgoose, drew 2-2 with Holbrook St Michaels.
In Division One, Swanwick Pentrich Road drew 1-1 with Matlock Sports and there was a 4-2 loss for Heanor Colliers at Mickleover RBL.
Shane Butterfield scored the Swanwick goal.
Selston fired four past Holbrook St Michaels Reserves without reply, with Steven Smith scoring all four.
Shirland Athletic had a good day.
They beat Ripley Town 4-1 with goals from Craig Catchpole, Adam Bellamy, Guy Turner and Keith Bryan.
Derby Royals, who are challenging for honours in Division Two, beat Melbourne Dynamo Reserves 3-0, while fellow promotion hopefuls Rowsley won 3-2 against Hilton Harriers.
