“@allinfairness - Both are academies and this, my friends, is where the similarity ends."

“@Stanvax is wrong actually. Comparing Ormiston Enterprise in Cotmanhay with the rather more leafy Chellaston is nothing less than Bizarre. Both are academies and this, my friends, is where the similarity ends.”

“The management of this school should be ashamed of themselves. Today's weather conditions simply do not justify closure. we should introduce what they do in the USA. They respect a school decision to close but every single day has to be made up from scheduled school holidays. This way not one day of education is lost. I am also sure it would lead to better management decisions. Stab ax is right it is a matter of commitment and attitude!”

“I see from Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the league table for % OF PUPILS WITH 5 OR MORE A*-C GCSES
4 Chellaston Academy 98%
30 Ormiston Enterprise Academy, Cotmanhay 24%
I wonder why that is? Could it be something to do with attitude?”

“Cue footage in locla news and pictures in the DT of children and parents throwing themselves down hills in parks on sledges.
I wonder which is safer of the two. Sledging or getting to school and being in a classroom? It is a tricky one...”

“i have 3 children who have all gone to school today in ilkeston and i only live a few mins walk away from Ormiston Enterprise and can not see any reason at all why it should be closed with only around 1cm of snow on the ground.”
