Motorcyclist hurt in 999 collision

A MOTORCYCLIST who was involved in a collision with a police car in Derby as it responded to a 999 call has been discharged from hospital.

The police car also hit a set of traffic lights during the incident, which happened at 4.15pm on Sunday at the junction of Manor Road and Uttoxeter New Road.

A police spokesman said the motorcyclist suffered bruising and had been released from hospital.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the collision. The police car driver sustained minor injuries.
