DERBY Music Centre has lined up an ambitious programme of performances for Christmas,

And its musicians have already been in action in preparation for the festive season.

Clarinetists Helen Ody and Rachel Clarke were joined by their tutors Peter and Christine Glenville at the Derbyshire Sports Awards at Pride Park.

Meanwhile, the centre's swing band played at St Mary's parish centre, in Derby.

The music centre's players rehearse at St Benedict Catholic School on Saturday mornings.

Their next public performance will be at the Christmas Wind Band Concert which will take place at Murray Park School, Mickleover on Saturday, December 5 at 6pm.

The centre's musicians will play again at the same venue the next day in the Orchestra Christmas Concert, and the centre's senior youth orchestra will also feature in the Rainbows Hospice Concert at Derby Cathedral on Wednesday, December 16, at 7.30pm.
