ON a Christmas visit to the city, former Derbeian Howard Rose spotted some familiar faces in Bygones.

The photograph showed members of the Bemrose School under-14 football team just before a schools final at Sinfin Lane, Derby, in April 1954.

It had been sent in by Clive Harris, of Weston-on-Trent, who was able to provide names for all the team bar two.

Now Mr Rose, of Reading, has written to fill in the names of the missing players. He said: "They are well known to me as year mates at Bemrose at the time.
