A SWIMMING pool has opened, prompting a free open day to get people into the water.

The new pools at William Gregg VC Leisure Centre in Heanor were opened on Monday and a demonstration day will take place on Sunday from 9am to 3.30pm.

It will show people what sort of aquatic activities they can take part in.

The open day is part of a Department of Health campaign called change4life, which aims to motivate people to eat well, move more and live longer.
