Parade in Long Eaton and Ilkeston today to celebrate the Chinese New Year

A GIANT snake puppet will be paraded through the centre of Long Eaton this afternoon to mark the Chinese New Year.

The parade starts at 2pm and lasts for one hour and includes children performing ribbon dancing. 

A lantern procession is also taking place in Ilkeston town centre tonight from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.

The parade, which will feature Chinese music and dance, will begin at Erewash Museum making its way to the Market Place.
