Parish council given lottery boost
West Hallam Parish Council has gained a £10,000 Big Lottery windfall to provide new equipment at two of its play areas.
The Parish Council worked with members of West Hallam Community Centre Youth Club to find out which equipment they would like to see added to the popular High Lane East and High Lane Central play areas.
Following confirmation of the successful grant bid, the Parish Council has now ordered two trim trails, featuring several items of equipment such as monkey bars, stretch posts, clatter bridges and weave beams.
The trails will be installed within the next six weeks.

Susan Dunkley clerk of the council said:”The Parish Council is delighted to have been awarded this money by the Big Lottery in order to provide additional play equipment for the youngsters of the Parish.
"It has seen more children than ever using these two play areas so it is vital that facilities are provided for them to play in a safe environment.
"The equipment, which is being supplied by Pennine Playgrounds of Silsden, West Yorkshire, has been chosen as it is low maintenance and therefore it is hoped that it will serve its purpose for many years to come."
