PATIENTS are being invited to register with a new £4.3m health centre.

Lister House surgery, in St Thomas' Road, Pear Tree, Derby, opens on Monday, June 22.

It will house the former Lister House surgery, which was located in Harrington Street until it was badly damaged by fire in May.

The new centre will also house a pharmacy and Derby Open Access Centre, which offers a GP service without appointments, seven days a week.

A spokesman said: "Lister House surgery had long identified shortfalls with their old building and had thankfully been planning a move to a new, state-of-the-art surgery for some time.

"Our new surgery will allow us to treat more patients in the community they live in, reducing the need for them to travel to hospital for treatment."

About 15,000 patients are expected to use the new centre, where services will include drug advice, physiotherapy, counselling and minor surgery.

It will be open from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday mornings.

Anyone who would like to register as a patient can call the surgery on 01332 271212 or simply drop in at the centre to make an initial appointment.
