Paul Mackenzie with guest Richard Felix - week 7

“Paul_Wood, I agree with you 100%. Paul Mackenzie is brilliant and if we look at the moaners on this post and other posts regarding the Paul Mackenzie podcast, they moan about everything. Just to see how pessimistic, negative and miserable they are, just look up their previous comments on most subjects – they have a problem!
It's a shame that there are so many miseries in this area, go to any other city and you'll find people so much more positive about things. Here we have free entertainment and some of us complain even though they say they pay no attention to it. The whole issue makes no sense. As others and myself have said previously, if Paul Mackenzie was on a decent radio station his talent could be fully appreciated.
The sooner Paul Mackenzie is back on the air good and proper the better!”

“"dave12548" - From what you have said, as soon as the podcast finishes its run, you will assume the new owner, "Local World" (which by the way will have the same boss that Northcliffe Media has now) has "binned" the podcast which everyone, including you, is talking about.
My friends in the media tell me that a series of this kind will have a limited run similar to any comedy show on television or radio, a contract will have been drawn up and either party at the end of this contract may decide to either continue or otherwise.
Quite frankly I am surprised Paul Mackenzie has the time produce this podcast as no doubt the finished programme only reflects a fraction of the time which is spent making it. Remember, the Derby Telegraph said they approached Paul to do this, so I expect for the time being he's seeing how things develop.
Northcliffe's present Chief Executive, Steve Auckland will be taking the reins with "Local World" with the intention of cornering the media market – not only in print, but much more…..”

Because for some bizarre reason those at the DT think it's a form of entertainment and that PM is talented......however come Jan 1 I'm certain the new owners of the DT will bin it.”

“Yes TUGBOAT, things are getting better, it's about time Paul Mackenzie was given some elbow room to do what he's good at – entertaining in a radio style programme. As you say TUGBOAT, all this could be a blooming success if the right facilities are put in place to turn the podcast into something so much bigger and better. I hope Paul would think the same. It'd be wonderful to think he would be back fully armed with what made him the legend he is. Rock on!”
