A 24-YEAR-OLD man was shot in the back with an air pellet in South Derbyshire.

The victim was walking along the A511 Ashby Road East, past Burton Golf Club, in Bretby, when he felt a pain in his back.

He turned around and saw a small silver car had driven up behind him and the white man sat in the front passenger seat was holding an air rifle.

The incident happened at around 3.20pm on Sunday, January 20, but police have only now released an appeal.
