Pensioner bag snatch prompts cop safety advice
AN 82-YEAR-OLD shopper had her bag and purse stolen while she was in a Derbyshire supermarket.
The pensioner had the items taken while she was in Morrisons, in Belper, between 12.30pm and 1pm on November 14.
The theft has prompted police to remind shoppers to keep their purses safe.
Officers are advising people to make sure they never leave handbags unattended in or on the back of shopping trolleys, even for just a moment.

Police Community Support Officer John Hardy of the Belper safer neighbourhood policing team, said: "Officers are currently making enquiries into this incident but we would like to remind shoppers to make sure they keep purses safe inside a handbag, and that your bag is securely closed.
"Never leave bags unattended on shopping trolleys and ideally keep your handbag close to you, under an arm with the strap over your shoulder, and avoid carrying large quantities of cash."
