Peter Cook looks to take over two furniture makers
A LONG Eaton firm which makes furniture components has said it is in advanced stages of negotiation with two furniture manufacturing companies which it is looking to buy.
Peter Cook International, which also has a base in Leeds, has not named the firms it has lined up to take over but said that the deals were part of its plan to grow by acquisition.
Over the last three years, the Acton Avenue firm has grown by between 20% to 30% year on year.
In its recent half year results, the company, which employs more than 20 people, achieved a turnover of £1.45 million.
Managing director Carl Pickup said: "The aim is to double turnover in the next two years.
"In addition to extending our product range, pro-actively seeking new markets and investing in additional sales and marketing resources, we are in search of companies with strategic fit who would benefit from our management expertise."
Peter Cook holds over 1,000 products in stock, and supplies a further 4,000 different items used in the manufacture of furniture, ranging from glides and metal feet to swivel bases, springs and sofa bed mechanisms and supplies .
