Physician's files to be preserved
RECORDS of an 18th Century physician are to be preserved by Derbyshire County Council with help from a grant of more than £500.
The six volumes from the unnamed doctor, written in the 1780s, have 730 pages arranged by name of patient, with address details and medicines prescribed.
Now the council's record office will get help to preserve the volumes from the Leche Trust – a London-based charity which gives cash for the furtherance of education and research.
Martin Molloy, strategic director of cultural and community services, said: "The grant will enable specialised conservation to be undertaken."
