Pick your Spondon young team of the year
NOMINATIONS have opened for the Spondon Young Team of the Year awards.
They aim to recognise, reward, promote and celebrate the achievements and successes of young people from Spondon working as part of a team.

Evonne Williams is pleased young people will be recognised.
Those put forward must have taken part in some type of team activity over a period of time but the team does not have to be part of a competitive league or competition.
Achievements need to have taken place between April 2012 and April 2013.

Anyone can nominate a team and the winners will receive a cash award and a certificate.
Those nominated must have achieved at least one of the following: provided the young people with a positive activity; involved them in a new experience; given the young people a sense of achievement; made an outstanding contribution to their club; achieved outstanding success; inspired the young people for the future; and added to their learning and development.
Ward councillor Evonne Williams said: "It is great to recognise young people working together."
Last year's award of £150, sponsored by Spondon Neighbourhood Board, was won by Spondon Cricket Club Under-13 Girls team.
